CrunchBang Linux 7.10.01 screenshots

I make some CrunchBang Linux screenshots. I think, the default OpenBox theme is to dark, but its good to see, how is bundled OpenBox and Ubuntu. I used the VMware server for taking screenshots.

Envy and driver 169.09

envy 0.9.10-0ubuntu2 adds the support for the latest Nvidia driver and fixes a bug:
* Fixed: Envy stopped after the process in the virtual terminal ended.
* Added: Nvidia driver 169.09
* Removed: Nvidia driver 169.07

* Fixed a problem causing the fan on some GPUs to always run at full speed.

Ubuntu 7.10 on the XPS M1330, Ubuntu Coming to Customers in Spain

Since we’ve began offering Ubuntu on some consumer systems, two clear areas of feedback from the IdeaStorm community and Direct2Dell readers have been:  offer Ubuntu on more hardware, and offer it worldwide.This Ubuntu-related post is still the third most commented post in Direct2Dell’s history-many  of the 654 comments are asking for it in more countries.

Now Ubuntu 7.10 is making it’s way to our XPS 1330 laptop and Dell will begin offering Ubuntu in Spain.

Starting today, customers in Germany, United Kingdom, France and now Spain can purchaseUbuntu Linux 7.10 with built-in DVD playback on the XPS 1330n (in addition to the previously-released Inspiron 530n desktop system.  For U.S. customers, you’ll have to hold on a week or so.

Lotus Notes 8.5 to fully support Ubuntu Linux 7.10 in mid-2008

Is Linux on the enterprise desktop finally ready for prime time? IBM apparently thinks so as it prepares to deliver its next versions of Lotus Notes enterprise collaboration software and Lotus Symphony office productivity applications for the first time with full support for Ubuntu Linux 7.10 sometime in the second half of this year.

In an announcement this week at the Lotusphere 2008 conference in Orlando, IBM said that it will provide full support for Ubuntu Linux with Lotus Notes 8.5 and Lotus Symphony using its Open Collaboration Client software, which is based on open standards.
