Ubuntu 9.04 “Jaunty Jackalope” Mock-up Designs

The next Ubuntu release codenamed “Jaunty Jackalope” won’t arrive until April of next year, but some people are already creating mock-ups of its desktop theme. Though there is no plan of a theme redesign for this next version, I know some of you, especially those who are disappointed with the Intrepid Ibex theme, are still hoping to see a completely refurbished Ubuntu look. So here are a few Ubuntu 9.04 “Jaunty Jackalope” mock-up designs that are showing up this early:

How Ubuntu Lost Its Credibility and the Road to Regaining It

If Ubuntu announced that a radically new theme would be included in Ubuntu 9.04, would you believe them? After promising exactly that in 8.04 and again in 8.10 without ever delivering, I would not. What if they promised to ship a perfectly stable and bug-free release for the next LTS? I might sort of believe it, but I would be skeptical, after what happened with Hardy Heron. On-chip Ubuntu for ARM devices

ARM processors are used in portable devices such as netbooks as well as a range of Internet appliances.

Ultimate Edition 2.0 has been released…

Ultimate Edition 2.0 is built based off Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (daily build), by hand, it is w/o a doubt gorgeous.  I am releasing a 32 bit, 64 Bit & and a Gamers edition (x86 based).  Ultimate Edition 2.0 is loaded to the hilt with themes, wallpapers, icon sets, gdm login screens, and Usplashes.  If you have a 64 bit processor I highly recommend the 64 bit edition.  I have purchased a second mirror just for this release the only thing on that mirror is this release on unlimited bandwidth, we also have 5 new mirrors inbound.  Just because of the added bandwidth available it is still important to help & torrent this release.
