The Big Ubuntu 9.04 Review!

Many people already wrote about it on internet, and in some megazines.
And here we go again!

What is Ubuntu?
Ubuntu is a free Linux distro, which you can get your hands on by many ways.
You can download the ISO and burn a CD, so you have your copy of Ubuntu directly.
You can also buy a CD or DVD for a very low price.
You can request a CD, using Shipit, for free (!), and you will get some free stickers with every package.
Or you can download Wubi (Windows Ubuntu Installer) and install Ubuntu side by side with Windows, without messing up your hard disk/Solid State Drive.

What’s a Wubi?
Wubi is the worse installation method for Ubuntu.
Don’t understand me wrong, I am also temporary using it (because of school), but Wubi gives you very limited options while installing.
That way, you get the for Linux instable NTFS filesystem, you can’t set time, your computer name is always “ubuntu”, very limited disk space, etc.

The new features?
Ubuntu 9.04 uses GNOME 2.26.1 and Linux Kernel 2.26.28.
Those 2 combinated, it will create a very nice interface.
All things that didn’t work for me in 8.10, now works in 9.04, like Wireless Internet and BlueTooth.
And a very handy feature is, if you are logged in as Root through the command “sudo su”, you are forced to typ in the password of any Super User account, or Root.
Hey! That’s also handy for my friends!
