Install hundreds of fonts in Ubuntu 9.04

Hi

I want to add more fonts to my Ubuntu 9.04. So I made some Googling and here is simply solution, how to install hundreds of new free fonts in Ubuntu. Some examples of installed fonts:

For installing give the fallowing command:

$sudo apt-get install ttf-sil-gentium ttf-dustin ttf-georgewilliams ttf-sjfonts sun-java6-fonts ttf-larabie-deco ttf-larabie-straight ttf-larabie-uncommon ttf-larabie-deco ttf-larabie-straight ttf-larabie-uncommon ttf-aenigma ttf-liberation msttcorefonts

  • Nice. I like the whole idea of apt-getting he fonts rather than downloading a tarball, then untarring in the right directory … blah blah blah.
    And quite a few of these fonts are nice too.

  • i am a new Ubuntu convert and everything i’ve done has been with the apt-get. i don’t even know how that tarball thing works. use apt-get because it is so simple!

  • Okay easy to apt-get the fonts, but where do they go? I forgot to look at the install data stream and now can not find them to load on my laptop.
