Canonical announces Landscape Dedicated Server

Canonical, the founder and sponsor of the Ubuntu project, has announced the availability of a dedicated, local version of its Landscape systems management and monitoring server for Ubuntu. Until now the Landscape service was only being offered as a Software as a Service (Saas) solution in the cloud hosted on Canonical’s servers. Now the Landscape Dedicated Server is available as a software appliance and can run on its own hardware, installed on-site. The Landscape Dedicated Server (LDS) can host and manage information on the local network as well as on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
