IBM Promotes Ubuntu-Based Cloud Solution in U.S.

To coincide with the Windows 7 launch, IBM issued a press release yesterday promoting its Ubuntu-based IBM Client for Smart Work solution.

The IBM Client for Smart Work, a software collection for and with Ubuntu, has been around for a year. More recently, IBM announced that they will try for a foothold in the African market for the solution.

IBM’s most recent press release, out just in time for Ubuntu’s fifth birthday, reemphasizes Smart Work’s advantages and especially its significantly lower costs compared to a Windows 7 solution.
