Enable Classic Gnome 2 Desktop In Ubuntu 11.10

Gnome team has triggered a new wave of excitement around Gnome 3 Shell with the extensions website. Even Linux Torvalds now find Gnome 3 to be more usable. That leaves Ubuntu users behind who are stuck with Unity which has not seen any customization at all.

I think its time for Ubuntu users to pay attention to what users want. I have come across a lot of users on my Google + page who want to have same old Gnome 2 drop down menu and no jazz. If you are one such user (I am enjoying Gnome 3 Shell with all those extensions) here is a rescue plan for you. You won’t have to do too much to gp back to the good old Gnome 2 desktop with all the goodies that Gnome 3 offers.
