SopCast Application TV-Maxe Adds Recording Feature, More

TV-Maxe, an application to watch TV stations online using various streams, such as SopCast, has reached version 0.09.The application comes with thow TV channel lists by default: an international and a Romanian one, but more unofficial lists are available on its wiki and of course, you can manually add more channels. TV-Maxe features HTTP remote control, Gstreamer, VLC and Mplayer backends and more.The latest TV Maxe 0.09 brings theming support, a much requested feature that allows stream recording (this feature is still in alpha so it might be a bit buggy), scheduling support, auto turn off, better support for m3u8 files, an improved user interface and other fixes and minor changes.The new recording feature can be tweaked from the TV-Maxe settings: you can set the recording quality as well as the audio/video codecs and file format.Install TV-MaxeTo install add the new TV-Maxe PPA (if you have the old PPA, remove it) and install it in Ubuntu, use the following commands:sudo add-apt-repository ppa:venerix/pkgsudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install tv-maxeTo be able to play some of the streams, you must also install these packages:sudo apt-get install libmp3lame0 libavcodec-extra-53For now, there are no packages for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail but you can manually change
