New OpenMandriva, Updated KDE, and Ubuntu EOL

Our top story tonight is the release of OpenMandriva Lx 2014 with new features and updates. KDE saw an update release this week as well and Ubuntu 12.10 approaches end-of-life. In other news "Firefox 29 sucks" says one, but another tests it against Konqueror and finds not so much. And Bryan Lunduke is back with more on why "Linux sucks!" OpenMandriva­ Lx 2014 was released yesterday with a long list of acknowledgements as well as new and improved features. These include new artwork, KDE 4.12.4 with plasma-mediacenter and Homerun, Firefox 29, LibreOffice, and high performance Linux 3.13.11 nrjQL. See the full release notes for important information and download yours here.     KDE 4.12.5 was released Tuesday with "only bugfixes and translation updates." Faced with a choice, Gary Newell compares and contrasts KDE’s Konqueror against Mozilla’s Firefox. He tests both browsers on popular Websites and finds that Konqueror failed more than Firefox. However, over at Dedoimedo.com, Firefox 29 isn’t fairing as well. Dedoimedo is basing his thesis on user satisfaction tracking and concludes by saying we need a new browser to take the place of old Firefox.
