well this edition don’t always know what a dial up modem is ? maybe you should just use wireless wi fi or a ethernet lan that is what I had to do in order to access the internet.

hi i have a bug while establishing a bsnl broadband connection in ultimate edition 2.5.please tell me how to rectify the bug in that edition (i use nokia siemens c2110 modem). I want to connect using that internet help me out.

Centrify is similar to Likewise Software, the big difference being Centrify charges for what Likewise Open does better and for free. I’ve tried both, and I definitely recommend the Likewise solutions.

Okay easy to apt-get the fonts, but where do they go? I forgot to look at the install data stream and now can not find them to load on my laptop.

i am a new Ubuntu convert and everything i’ve done has been with the apt-get. i don’t even know how that tarball thing works. use apt-get because it is so simple!

Ubuntu shouldn’t bee too worried. What it means because Chrome OS is GPL that as Google is so popular, people who wouldn’t think of migrating to Linux will, and hardware makers especially will want to release drivers under GPL. The whole Linux community benefits not just Google.

I think Ubuntu might want to refocus the offering, especially in giving more help in choosing between packages doing much the same thing in the repositories, but that more users come to Linux may boost Canonical core business, which is of course sales of support and the like and not primarily for selling Oses, which it doesn’t.
